The Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) Foundation was the big winner at its 7th Annual Washer Tournament, in Alexandria, where 32 teams raised $4,500 towards the purchase of a CT scanner. “Our most recent public update was we raised $1.8 million, and we’re continuing to see strong momentum as we work toward the $2 million milestone,” says Foundation Board Chair Mark Adam. The goal is to raise $3.5 million. “We know that having more services available locally can make things easier for patients,” said Adam. “That’s what drives events like this. The support we saw today helps us bring critical tools like a CT scanner to our hospital and advance care in our community.” Adam added that the strength of the event lies in its simplicity and community spirit. “What stands out is how a simple, fun event can bring people together to support something we all rely on: our local hospital,” he said. Special recognition is also extended to the Alexandria & District Lions Club, led by Jeremy Dubeau and Cassie Depratto Nutt, for its $1,000 donation and members’ hands-on volunteer support throughout the day.
