Cornwall fans got a dose of Canadian comedy legend on Friday, October 10, as Spencer “Spenny” Rice made a special appearance at Bud’s Records for a free meet-and-greet and autograph session. Best known as half of the iconic Kenny vs. Spenny duo, Spenny signed memorabilia, posed for photos, and shared a few laughs with longtime fans of the cult-favourite TV show.
The two-hour event drew a steady stream of admirers. Many attendees reminisced about their favourite show moments and were excited to meet the man behind the neurotic, rule-following persona that made Spenny a household name. “I’m very grateful for anybody who cares that I’m alive,” Spenny joked. “My wife doesn’t care, so it’s nice that people do.”
Originally from Toronto and now living in Kingston, Spenny is no stranger to Cornwall. “I’ve played music here before, I’ve done Kenny vs. Spenny Live here-it’s great. I’m looking forward to coming back,” he said.
Fans won’t have to wait long. Spenny returns to Cornwall on Saturday, October 25, for a live performance at Lola’s Pub & Grub. Tickets are available now. His music is a blend of covers and originals, spanning genres like blues, country, classic rock, along with comedic interludes.
