A 42-year-old man from Cornwall was arrested on Oct. 13, 2025, and charged with the following:
Two counts of fail to comply with release order
Assault causing bodily harm
Two counts of assault with a weapon
Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
Carrying concealed weapon
Firearm – use while committing offence
Pointing a firearm
Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
Possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order
Occupant of motor vehicle knowing there was a firearm
Knowledged of unauthorized possession of firearm
Kidnapping while using certain firearms – confined
Unauthorized possession of a firearm
Two counts of uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm
Operation while prohibited under the criminal code
In the early morning hours of Oct. 13, 2025, members of the Cornwall Police Service were dispatched to an ambulance assist call for a possible stabbing, and an investigation ensued.
It is alleged on this date, the man was bound by a release order with the relevant conditions to reside at a specific address and to not possess any weapons.
Furthermore, it is alleged he assaulted an individual with an edged weapon, causing injuries. He then brandished a firearm, pointed it at multiple individuals and subsequently forced an individual into a motor vehicle. It is also alleged he made death threats to multiple individuals.
The investigation also revealed the man allegedly operated a motor vehicle while prohibited and failed to reside at the address he was required to live at.
The man was subsequently located at his residence, and it is alleged he refused to leave. With reasonable and probable grounds developed, a warrant was issued for the man’s arrest.
Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 13, 2025, the Cornwall Emergency Response Team (CERT) executed the warrant and arrested the man. He was taken into custody by a CPS officer, charged accordingly and held for a bail hearing.
