On October 29th local Lions Club representatives received a tour of the new Dundas Manor construction site and were thrilled to see the progression of the new home.
Local Lions Clubs, including Iroquois-Matilda, Mountain Township, Winchester, Chesterville, Metcalfe, Morrisburg, and Russell, joined forces to raise funds in support of the new build. Their efforts have been generously matched by the Lions Club International Foundation, resulting in a combined total donation of $260,000.
Funds donated will be used to furnish four lounge areas, four dining areas, and the main entryway of the new home, helping create welcoming and comfortable spaces for residents and their families.
“This project, the construction of the new Dundas Manor, could not be accomplished without the support of many community partners,” added Jim Devenny, Lions Club Member. “Our Foundation is pleased to support this important project.”
“This generous donation goes a long way in helping us reach our goal, and supports the Dundas Manor commitment of caring for each other as one strong community” stated Cindy Peters, Executive Director of the WDMH Foundation.
Dundas Manor is a 98-bed long-term care home located in Winchester, Ontario, supporting the greater community. After construction the new home will be more than double its current size and will welcome 30 new residents along with its current 98.
