The Agape Centre’s 7th annual Stuff the Stocking event brought warmth and joy to nearly 200 children.
“This year, we helped more families than ever,” said Executive Director Lisa Duprau. “Many told us this was Christmas for their children.” For some, it provided the only holiday gifts and festive experience that some families could offer their children this year. Planning began a month in advance with major help from Debbie and her team at the Ninth Street Dollar Tree. With their donations, 264 stockings were prepared, each with items and Dairy Queen coupons. Students from St. Joseph’s and Holy Trinity helped stuff them. Families also received gift cards, and 25 donated snowsuits were handed out ahead of Christmas. In total, 1,302 pounds of food were collected thanks to More Than Photos, who hosted free photo sessions with Santa and the Grinch in exchange for food donations over the holiday season.
